The Butterfly Bush: January 2015
http://diannekronika.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 23, 2015. I have been busy working on a prototype for a doll or dolls. At this point, I am not really satisfied with the parts or the direction. So, I may have to take a different tack with it. In looking for solutions, I stumbled across Agosia Arts. Not only is Carmen Alana Tibbets a wonderful artist, she is also quite generous in helping others who are interested in making dolls. Until next time, I wish you peace and all good things. Ghost Dog Orchard: April 2013
http://ghostdogorchard.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Apr 19, 2013. Making a Kitchen Cart. A while back, I received a few marble top tables. The table part was uninspiring, but the marble! I have always wanted a marble slab for the kitchen, but this stuff is too heavy to move to IL, so I kept it in reserve for use at the cabin. Marble is the best surface for rolling pastry and making candy. If you don't mind a stain or two over the years, it acquires a wonderful patina. They were trimmed and painted before attaching with hinges. Apr 5, 2013. I discussed the...

Ghost Dog Orchard: June 2012
http://ghostdogorchard.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Jun 25, 2012. Out of the frying pan, into the . flood. View from the cabin: ash blowing off the burnt mountain. As of today, the Whitewater Baldy Fire is 87% contained. I went to NM last week to check the cabin and view the awfulness for myself. As much as one mentally knows about the damage, seeing it in person takes the situation to another level. This fire is bad, very bad. Areas that burnt in the past 10 years and were beginning to recover, burned again. Photos from the Forest Service. It will take d...

Ghost Dog Orchard: December 2012
http://ghostdogorchard.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Dec 24, 2012. Merry Christmas and Happy Artwork to All! This lovely mosaic is made of bottlecaps (amazing I know! And I created it using the steps outlined in a previous post. If you take a step back, you can see how wonderful the mosaic really is. The mosaic is a gift to my brother in law who has a thing for Our Lady of Guadalupe. I tried a number of images, including the classic with the Virgin floating on a cloud surrounded by roses, but this version was so pretty it quickly became my favorite. Once d...

Ghost Dog Orchard: March 2013
http://ghostdogorchard.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Mar 22, 2013. We're moving into spring and I'm always hopeful for the new year. Last year (2012) was difficult because of the massive fire ( see previous post. I've included a slide-show of some of the highlights of the 2012:. One of the happy surprises was an antique rose of unknown vintage growing gangbusters without any water all year. The original cutting is from the ditchbank at my Mom's house in Los Lunas. An upcoming post will outline the plans for the garden this year. Stay tuned. Mar 15, 2013.

Ghost Dog Orchard: Images from Monstercam
http://ghostdogorchard.blogspot.com/2013/07/images-from-monstercam.html
Jul 27, 2013. Last year I installed a motion detecting camera outside the cabin. The goal was to determine how much time the deer were spending in the orchard. The short answer turned out to be - A lot! I also figured out they were pretty much living under one of the trees in the yard. I know that the back fence had to go up (and it has since then), but I had no idea the ruminants spent so much time in my yard. Posted by C.A. Tibbets. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ghost Dog Orchard: A Chandelier for the Kitchen
http://ghostdogorchard.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-chandelier-for-kitchen.html
Aug 23, 2013. A Chandelier for the Kitchen. My intention was to wire it into the ceiling and be done with it. Not so easy! Ahhhh, light in the kitchen at long last. The chandelier is not too fancy, but adds some class to the room. The beaded flowers sparkle and I know I'm going to be cleaning out cobwebs, but its worth it. After all the time and hassle, it would have been easier to buy a new one. However, I know for sure I have the only chandelier like this! Posted by C.A. Tibbets. Vist my other sites.
