Adventures of a Country Vet

Adventures of a Country Vet. Experiences from daily life as a rural mixed animal veterinarian. Friday, June 28, 2013. I am certain every veterinarian in the world has on a regular basis wished they could read the patient's minds. I have certainly wished the same on many occasions i.e. where do you really hurt, how long has this been going on, what bad thing did you eat or drink that your owner doesn't know etc. But in this case I had just one question, "What in the were you thinking cow"? I thought wrong...

Adventures of a Country Vet. Experiences from daily life as a rural mixed animal veterinarian. Sunday, June 27, 2010. Before I start, an apology for taking so long to update my blog. As I wrote last we made a pretty big move and now I am working in Canada. Adventures of a Country Vet. Experiences from daily life as a rural mixed animal veterinarian. Sunday, July 26, 2009. Since it is so common we have many clients that have animals acting unusual and almost always the first question out of their mouth is, "Could it be Rabies? Not surprisingly our very diplomatic answer is generally, "It could.and there are some other things we should think about". A case this week was one of these. Sunday, July 12, 2009. Patient BAR, MM pink, moist CRT. Now many of you wou...

Adventures of a Country Vet. Experiences from daily life as a rural mixed animal veterinarian. Friday, December 25, 2009. It is going to be a bittersweet change for us. In many ways it will be exciting to move back near family and old friends. At the same time it will be sad to leave behind the many wonderful people that have been clients, friends, and even our family away from home. We will cherish the memories made here. You will be missed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Create your own visitor map! Today...

Adventures of a Country Vet. Experiences from daily life as a rural mixed animal veterinarian. Friday, October 16, 2009. Sometimes people make me wonder. Do you want to do the bred heifers or the prolapse next? I was thinking to myself 'Bred heifers? You mean we haven't even done 200 yet? I really am a wimp.'. Well we did get done, eventually, and as I was leaving I asked the farmer what the head count was. He replied, "350 head."! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Create your own visitor map! La Familia Barnes: Going Back to Cali

http://familiabarnes.blogspot.com/2013/11/going-back-to-cali.html

Finding Joy in the Journey. Monday, November 4, 2013. Going Back to Cali. Our last night in WA was spent in a hotel in Bellevue. We had breakfast a non-kid friendly Jewish deli, so that was interesting. I think Rose enjoyed it though. Since we were moving into temporary housing in San Jose, we had to have suitcases full of stuff to last 2 months. We're talking books, toys, clothes, the whole nine. Here's how we arrived: 2 car seats, 3 carry ons, 1 double stroller, and 11 suitcases later.

La Familia Barnes: Halloween

http://familiabarnes.blogspot.com/2014/01/halloween.html

Finding Joy in the Journey. Friday, November 8, 2013. Okay I will say this.I absolutely hate it when people "catch up" on their blogs. Its annoying. But I'm doing it in case I ever want to make one of those blurb books someday. So here's Halloween 2013. Rose wanted to be a blue princess.so I guess that means Cinderella? A movie she's never seen before. How do they learn these things ha? Rose suggested that Liney wear her Doc McStuffins costume that she got for her birthday. What a great idea!

La Familia Barnes: Things we do in California...

http://familiabarnes.blogspot.com/2013/11/things-we-do-in-california.html

Finding Joy in the Journey. Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Things we do in California. 1 Go to the park nearly everyday. 3 Have cousins over to watch football. 4 Pose for pictures after church. 5 See amazing sunrises. And sunsets for that matter. 6 Take dance classes that we don't like. Okay, let me explain. Rose was taking a big girl dance class that she despised. For 3 weeks the teacher would tell me "I just don't think its working out." Ha! So now we take a "Mommy and Me" class together, all 3 of us!

La Familia Barnes: April 2013

http://familiabarnes.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Finding Joy in the Journey. Wednesday, April 10, 2013. We have been blessed every Easter weekend that we have lived here with great weather. Our friend in the ward does an unofficial ward party Easter egg hunt. Its so great for the kids (we've heard that the community hunt is quite the frenzy)! We walked down to the park where it was held. Here are the cuties getting ready. Care was so good at putting the eggs in her basket! I made the girls Easter dresses again this year (using this. And the lovely mess...

Finding Joy in the Journey. Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Hello, out there! I know that there aren't many readers of this blog left but, oh well. In early July, we had the opportunity to go on a Mormon Pioneer. Here we are the night before trying on our clothes. I sewed my bonnet, apron, and skirt. I also helped the YW in our ward sew their bonnets. I probably made over 20.I'm a little obsessed with making them! They are so fun. I'm thinking of a possible Etsy shop next summer. Larry and Susan Shaw. A lot of...

La Familia Barnes: First weeks in the Bay Area

http://familiabarnes.blogspot.com/2014/01/first-weeks-in-bay-area.html

Finding Joy in the Journey. Tuesday, November 5, 2013. First weeks in the Bay Area. Our first couple of weeks here we spent hanging out it our awesome apartment that we lived in temporarily for our first 2 months in SJ. When we got here, Mike's brother had moved in a week earlier so pretty much all we wanted to do was hang out with them, so we did ha. Mike's mom came to visit and we went to Carmel and Monterey. Dennis the Menace park. One night we (accidentally) spent $50 on pizza. Why not!

La Familia Barnes: October 2012

http://familiabarnes.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Finding Joy in the Journey. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Road Trip Part 4- WY. In Wyoming, we went to visit our dear friends, the Andrus'. They live in beautiful Star Valley, a place that I may or may not consider the middle of nowhere. It was beautiful! It was a girl party. We had a group of close friends in Pullman. And not one of us has yet to produce a boy. 14 girls and 1 on the way. Craziness. They live close to the Teton National Park so we went and had a little picnic and went on a hike. Whatever)...

La Familia Barnes: Goodbye to Friends

http://familiabarnes.blogspot.com/2013/09/goodbye-to-friends.html

Finding Joy in the Journey. Friday, November 1, 2013. Our last moments at the house! Kari and Megan watched our kids ALL day which pretty much saved our life. We totally forgot to have Rose say goodbye to the house as we were rushing out the door in the morning. The Young Womens Presidency I had been serving in for the past 6 months. I love these ladies so so much. We had such special times with our girls. She is the most loving and not to mention beautiful (with impeccable style) girl ever! While Meg's ...

La Familia Barnes: January 2013

http://familiabarnes.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Finding Joy in the Journey. Friday, January 25, 2013. So having an iPhone (or another kind of smart phone) pretty much means you don't need a camera anymore, right? Last weekend we hit up the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. Rose actually watched an imax for about 20 minutes! Pretty shocking. She did try to reach out and grab stuff which was pretty funny. Some other highlights were the butterfly exhibit and the water tables. Afterwards, we rode the monorail to the downtown area to do some shopping.

Adventures of a College Vegetarian. Cooking vegetarian on a budget! List of things I eat (aka recipes). Let the ‘ice cream’ games begin! August 7, 2012. Ice cream is one of my most favorite things ever, seriously. If I could eat it all the time, I totally would. However, I’m not a huge fan of eating full fat cream, whole milk, and an excessive amount of sugar more than once every ten years. adventures of a copy girl | and the people I meet

Adventures of a copy girl. On June 19, 2014. Here is something that I saved on my desktop from April 4, 2014. I like to do “thoughtless” writing and this was one of those where I wrote whatever came to my fingertips. Imagine something green. It wells up and sprouts from your mind. Let it flow. Let it grow. How tall these are, reaching ever towards the sky. The sky is the limit, however it isn’t the limit at all, is it? How, then, can we try to limit our response to those thoughts? On May 30, 2014.
