A Better Photograph: Control Depth of Field to Take Better Photographs

http://abetterphotograph.blogspot.com/2009/02/control-depth-of-field-to-take-better.html

Friday, February 27, 2009. Control Depth of Field to Take Better Photographs. One of the biggest shifts I encourage my students is to make in their growth as photographers is to take control of the camera functions. In the early stages of shooting, many people rely on the camera's automatic exposure controls capability. They set the camera on Program mode, and shoot away. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Better Photograph: March 2008

Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Assembling an image to get the picture you pre-visualized. Here is what the layer for the building looked like with a mask so that the sunlit building will come through in the final. Here is what the layer for the sky looked like with a mask so that the sky comes through in the final. Wednesday, March 12, 2008. But in this case what I am talking about is looking for opportunities for images. Most times, we get absorbed in watching the light at sunrise as it illuminates the vi...

A Better Photograph: April 2008

http://abetterphotograph.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Waiting for the light. Here’s another example. When I first saw this scene, and snapped the first picture, the light was flat. By waiting a few minutes for an opening in the clouds and allowing the light to travel across the land until it illuminated the rocks, I got better separation of the rock surfaces and greater depth overall. There are times were we have to hurry, but when shooting landscapes, having patience to wait for the light is clearly worthwhile. On my return, I pa...

A Better Photograph: February 2008

http://abetterphotograph.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 24, 2008. The value of image stabilization. Probably one of the greatest improvements in camera technology of late is image stabilization. Some camera companies have their system in the camera, some place it in the lens itself. Either way, the concept works really well. So if you have the option in purchasing cameras or lenses with this technology, I highly recommend looking into it. Labels: photography tip image stabilization. Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Marge In Real Life. Where my truth lives. Marge’s Shirt Shop. Homer and Marge’s Sex Marathon. If you want to really understand what it’s about, READ THE BOOK. FINAL SCORE: 18 for 30. Ead from the bottom (of the *page* JamesOtis) up. I’m only keeping one week’s worth here. Read it or lose it, folks. Sunday marked day number 30. And though we don’t have the determination of Doug Brown and his wife, a score of 60% isn’t all bad and the fun and learning of the experience was worthwhile regardless of score.

Marge In Real Life. Where my truth lives. Marge’s Shirt Shop. February 25, 2011. Clearly, I’m not Irish. For you, Miss Lavender Luz. I once thought I had it together. I had planned for all of life’s weather. Now with husband and son. No housework gets done. I think sometimes I wasn’t so clever. Family is just what you make it. You can love what you have or forsake it. When you’re loved by your friends. You can take what life sends. If it’s real love, you’ll never mistake it. IsO – What It Is. 8230;] Marg...

Friday, October 10, 2008. This weekend, I had an opportunity to test a production version Canon 50D. Having had experience with the previous model, the 40D, I was curious to see what changes Canon had built into its successor (for technical details, you can check out Luminous Landscape. The first thing I noticed is that the basic camera and layout of the functions has not changed significantly. So for those who are upgrading, the transition should be effortless. Philadelphia’s public service workers have been out in the freezing weather, clearing the snow, collecting the trash, repairing our roads. Providing the services that keep the city running.
