Quick advice for climbing Mount Rainier. Jun 24, 2014. It was finally meant to be as we got good weather and great conditions, and we got to the top of Rainier. We took the DC route, which was amazingly well maintained and in perfect shape (late June is a great choice). Having tried the mountain twice before, I definitely benefited from the learning process (e.g. previous mistakes). The standard gear list applies, which you can find on almost any site like IMG’s youtube video. Or in list form.

A must of course is a stylus, and I’d recommend either the Bamboo stylus. The industry standard, I have it and like it) or the any of the new cloth tipped versions (I picked up this guy.

May 31, 2012. If you’re in the genetics field, the term personalized medicine rings of overuse. Every genetic and genomics discovery seems to have some profound implication for the future of personalized medicine. Although treatments from the human genome projects and other projects which followed have been few and far between.

Will publishing really change? Sep 28, 2013. He’s refusing to publish in Nature, Cell, or Science. There has been a lot of backlash of course. It’s quite easy to say you’re not going to publish in these top journals after you’ve won the top prize in science. But I’d offer that this is where we start. It’s strange, after the attention this story is getting, that the largest for-profit publisher is going after academics for sharing their work.
