How to Give Your Kids A Full-Abundant-Scary-Good-Life. Written by Alyssa Santos. I have asked some difficult questions in my twenty years of parenting. Is this lizard I pulled out of the washer real or a dollar-store toy? It was real, dead, and cold in the palm of my hand.). How can you not smell that odor in your room? I went to ...

A Sheltering Tree: Healing for Scars
http://ourshelteringtree.blogspot.com/2015/08/healing-for-scars.html
A mother, her daughters and granddaughter - blogging together. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. The extreme greatness of Christianity lies in the fact that it does not seek a supernatural remedy for suffering, but a supernatural use for it. But what kind of an attitude can we have towards the undeniable presence of our scars? What did Jesus do with his scars? He comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. Wow, such an amazing post.

Messy Christmas, Everyone! – Life in the Spacious Place
https://lifeinthespaciousplace.wordpress.com/2016/12/21/messy-christmas-everyone
Life in the Spacious Place. Speaking truth, sharing hope. December 21, 2016. December 22, 2016. Messy Christmas, Everyone! No, the title is not a typo! I mean, of course I do wish you a merry Christmas, but I think the reality is that often it can also be messy. It can seem that everyone else has it together- when we see the photos on social media or read the Christmas newsletters from the “perfect family”- but often these can be misleading. The kitchen honestly looked like a flour bomb had just gone off!

Allie's Blog: Thankful for Allie's School
http://aliraemondok.blogspot.com/2014/02/thankful-for-allies-school.html
Monday, February 24, 2014. Thankful for Allie's School. Allie loves school. She likes riding the bus to school. She loves arriving at school. Allie loves her teachers. And they love her. So I love them. They make sure Allie has plenty to do every day. One of the things they have her class involved in is a garden out behind her classroom. If you look closely at the tray attached to Allie's chair, you'll see a large red disc. That's a button. When Allie pushes the button, she waters the plants.

A blog about faith in Christ, homemaking, motherhood, homeschooling, and everything in-between! Projects & Crafts. Odds & Ends. When Your Kid is the Bad Kid at Church. July 30, 2015. It had been another one of those nightmarish services when I wondered why on earth I had even bothered to come to church. Not that the service itself was bad. It was probably very good,. To save my life. She was a poor communicator, barely talking at all before her third birthday and using only a few basic signs. For the...

Resting in Him who is Trustworthy: The Ridiculously Wasteful God
http://tranquilityofspirit.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-ridiculously-wasteful-god.html
Resting in Him who is Trustworthy. Thursday, March 12, 2015. The Ridiculously Wasteful God. Why did He not answer? Why did the one who controlled the casting of lots not allow the first or second contract to roll in our favor? Reason 4: God's a Spender, but he never goes into debt. He has the resources to out-spend you. You can trust that through unexplained and senseless waste in your life, He loves you more deeply than your despondency and fears. His plans for you are abundant and full of l...I could h...

CREEKSIDE MINISTRIES: In Memory of John Halliday Blackie
http://creeksideministries.blogspot.com/2015/07/in-memory-of-john-halliday-blackie.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. In Memory of John Halliday Blackie. It is with greatest sorrow that I share the news that the day after we moved here to Cape Cod, my beloved Dad died suddenly, quickly, peacefully. We are crushed. Tim and I were so looking forward to this season of doing life with him and my mom. But even in the midst of the shock and the whirlwind of decisions and phone calls and planning is that ever-present peace that passes understanding. Please, my friends, pray for our family. You still priz...

When We Build Fences of Regret | Ingrid Lochamire
https://ingridlochamire.wordpress.com/2014/11/13/when-we-build-fences-of-regret
Published on November 13, 2014. When We Build Fences of Regret. Written by Ingrid Lochamire. Who doesn’t regret something in their lives? You can’t be in this world, have any sort of history, and not have regret. Over choices you made. Or didn’t make. Over people you hurt. Or didn’t love enough. Over misunderstandings, missteps, mistakes. It’s tempting to hang onto the regret, to coddle the remorse we feel and believe that living with regret makes us a better person.
